Sawyer's 1st Christmas

Oh how I have looked forward to opening presents with my child on Christmas morning! I know that he did not understand what was going on, but he brought us so much joy!

Sawyer - 3 months old

Weight & Length: This month Sawyer weighed in at 17 pounds and measured 25 inches. I think we can officially say he is a BIG BOY!

Sleeping: He has slept through the night multiple times this past month. It is hit or miss. If he doesn't sleep through the night he usually wakes just once. He still likes to take long naps in the morning, which is nice so we can sleep in on Saturday mornings.

Eating: Still no set schedule, he just eats every 2-3 hours. However, when a growth spurt hits, he may eat more frequently.

Diapers: He is still in his size 2 diapers. They fit him perfect now. Don't know how much longer he will be in them because they say up to 18 lbs.

Clothing: Sawyer is now wearing 3-6 months. All those cute little 0-3 mos sleepers he wore are now too small :( I was able to get a lot of church clothes in his size at a second hand store, many of them still had tags on them.

Hair: His long sprigs now blend in with the rest of his hair. Everyone has commented on how fast his hair is growing.

Eyes: Medium blue

Personality: He is still a very happy baby!!! He loves attention!! The more people giving him attention, the more he smiles and talks. He loves to lay on his floor play mat. He can lay there for over an hour playing with all the toys hanging down. (Thanks Jeanelle!) He also has one at his babysitters (Thanks Shelly!). Another toy that he loves is a train set that he got for Christmas. It plays music and goes around a little track. He loves watching it and gets so excited when it starts moving! (Thanks Leigh Ann!)

Milestones:

  • Rolled over from his back to stomach
  • Laughed out loud, he has been just doing little chuckles, but now he is on to laughing at loud over and over again!
  • Grasp rattle
  • Holds his head upright
  • Reaches for objects

Firsts: He stayed with his first babysitter. Mommy had to go back to work and the first couple of days he stayed with daddy. Then the next week he stayed with his babysitter. Going back to work was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I am sure every mommy knows that it is no fun! He made his first trip to Grammy's house. Grammy lives almost 2 hours away and she visits here often, so we don't get to go to her house that much.Of course he also had his first Christmas and he met many of his relatives. Sawyer celebrated his first new years and even attended his first new years party even though we didn't even stay till midnight lol. Sadly, Sawyer also had his first cold. He was so pitiful, broke our hearts. He never ran a fever just had congestion and a cough. You never even realize how blessed you are that you can blow your nose till you have a little one that can't.

Adventures this month: We went to see Christmas lights and I was anxious to see how he would react to all the lights. He loved them! He just kept looking around in amazement. I was very surprised since he was so little.

Sawyer got to meet Haley Heath, she is on the hunting show "Family Traditions with Haley Heath" on the Sportsman Channel. Although he has no clue who she is now, one day he will be excited to know that he met someone on TV.
